Promoting advocacy and independence for guide dog teams in New York State
Satisfy your sweet tooth with Terri Lynn and support a vital program for working guide dogs
We are pleased to announce the Animal Medical Center’s Frank V.D. Lloyd Fund for Guide Dogs has been selected as our 2024/25 fundraising recipient. One of our main goals is to raise awareness and support the needs of working guide dog teams.
Did you know in 2023 AMC treated 179 guide dogs, who collectively made 834 patient visits; the total value of their care was $836,006. For working guide dogs who come to AMC, the Guide Dog Fund covers the full cost of both wellness and sick visits, including examination fees, diagnostics, procedures, hospitalization, and medications. AMC’s Primary Care doctors conduct annual examinations, vaccinations, and lab work. AMC’s Dentistry Service performs dental cleanings and procedures. Urgent cases are handled by the AMC Emergency Department, which operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on a walk-in basis.
While AMC charges no fee for its services, owners who are able often show their gratitude to AMC with a donation, which helps AMC continue to assist other guide dogs living in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
Your generosity will help blind and low vision people care for their guide dog partners. Check out our new Fundraising Webstore at https://empire-state-gd.terrilynn.com
